I'm a dreadful portrait photographer (no people are ever in my photos!) so I'm not a good judge, but I like this one, and especially the angle and the interesting patterns in the background. They add interest to the scene without distracting from the person.

an afterthought - I always like to have a person or two in any landscape I photograph, for the same reason as I like portraits to have a visible context. People give meaning to a landscape and vice versa (just thinking out loud here....)

Yes, photographing people is a real challenge. I like this one better than the first one you posted. I think it's because of the composition. A portrait in a context has more impact I think.

It is rare! Do you have a press clearance? If I go near the chainlinked fence with a camera- police chopper will circle above for a while to spot the intruder (me), then airport police and nearby city police will send 1 squad car each to tell me to buzz off.

The slight blur adds to the photo, so I wouldn't worry about the shutterspeed. A well deserved spot on the Aminus3 front page!

I adore these kind of macro'paintings' almost abstract. In my opinion sharpness isn't a must, especially when you get this kind of softness. Really like this one, hope more to follow!

The stark color and subject pull one in, but it's the tiny detail of the reflection on the pupil that puts the shot over the top (in a good way).
